Terms of Service

Last updated: June 15, 2025

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Utility Tools ("the Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Utility Tools, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Utility Tools is a free, browser-based application that provides randomization utilities including:

  • Random number generation within user-defined ranges
  • Virtual dice rolling with configurable options
  • Random list shuffling and ordering
  • Random playing card drawing from a virtual deck
  • Virtual coin flipping

The Service runs entirely in your web browser and requires no account creation, login, or personal information.

3. Use of Service

You may use Utility Tools for any lawful purpose, including but not limited to:

  • Personal decision-making and entertainment
  • Educational activities and classroom use
  • Board games and tabletop gaming
  • Raffles, giveaways, and random selection

You agree not to use the Service for any illegal activity or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.

4. Randomness Disclaimer

Utility Tools uses the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues) when available in your browser, which provides cryptographically secure pseudo-random numbers. When the Web Crypto API is unavailable, the Service falls back to Math.random().

While we strive to provide high-quality random results, we make no guarantees about the statistical properties, cryptographic security, or suitability of the random output for any particular purpose. The Service is provided for general-purpose randomization and should not be relied upon for:

  • Cryptographic key generation
  • Security-critical applications
  • Gambling or wagering where certified random number generators are legally required
  • Scientific simulations requiring specific statistical distributions

5. No Warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Results will be perfectly random or meet specific statistical criteria
  • The Service will be compatible with all browsers or devices
  • Locally stored data (history, preferences) will persist indefinitely

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Utility Tools and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid for using the Service (which is $0, as the Service is free).

7. Intellectual Property

The Utility Tools name, logo, design, and code are the intellectual property of their respective owners. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without prior written permission, except as permitted by applicable law.

8. Local Data

Utility Tools stores preferences and history in your browser's localStorage. This data is stored locally on your device and is your responsibility. We are not responsible for data loss due to browser settings, clearing of browser data, or device changes.

9. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
